| Chester is a genius geek game designer who uses his talents and brain power to make millions through his own company, GameGeek. By age thirty-two, Chester has endured five broken engagements and withdrawn into isolation, devoting himself solely to game design. When he receives an invitation to a VIP event in Las Vegas, he decides to attend but is uncertain when he sees the building, a model of Egypt’s ancient Temple of Karnak, is entitled The Lust Bastion Erotic Emporium! His hostess is supposed to be Bastet, Egyptian Goddess of Pleasure, which might be odd. But since Chester’s best fantasy computer game revolves around playing numerous different goddesses, he allows that she might be role-playing right now as well.
Bastet introduces Chester to Nefertari 9.0, current top-of-the-line, state-of-the-art, sex robot. Chester is entranced but sticks to the point that a robot has no soul; and despite all the failed commitments he’s experienced, his eternal optimism still demands a woman he can love and who can love him in return. His thoughts return to the statuesque blonde, Shannon, whom he rather clumsily encountered on the way into the event, and whom he thinks is a prostitute. Michele Bardsley delivers a stunning tale of two individuals who are really empathetic characters. Both Chester and Shannon are dedicated to their careers and have been very ill-fated in matters of love. The reader immediately relates to each of them and finds herself cheering them on to relationship success! The sensuality is explicit but is also very tastefully done, imparted with a light, dry, touch of tongue-in-cheek humor. I recommend this one highly and anticipate more entries in this series!
