| Al-Kenna is a Warlord's daughter and the only female immortal of her kind. She's been trained from a young age to be a warrior and hunt vampires, and has every intention of using her training. The trouble is her father is not going to let her do anything she was trained for. In her society, women aren't allowed that kind of freedom. She chafes at the restrictions, and wants a chance to prove herself. When she finds out that no one wants to go to Aralic the Vampire and ask his help, she volunteers herself, but her father will not allow it.
Aralic knows that there is a big war coming with the Nephilim that he and the other supernatural beings must win. The only way to do that is to join together, something that hasn't happened in a long time. Lately, he has found himself longing for the days that his one true love was still alive. He's been thinking about her more and more, even though she had died tragically long ago. When he gets his first look at Al-Kenna, he can't believe his eyes, because she is a carbon copy of his long lost love Smenkhare. He's a vampire, the being that she has been trained to hunt and kill since she was small. Will she be able to remember and accept him? I loved the story, the interactions and the complicated plot kept me interested all the way through. I would have preferred that they stuck with one point of view; I noticed that there was a lot of jumping around from character to character and it became a little confusing to me after a while. If you haven't read the first one, you might be a little lost with the relationship between Charity and Raven, so I would highly suggest you pick up the first one. Aralic is a great character, slightly arrogant but is knocked off his feet by his first sight of Al-Kenna, his reincarnated love. Al-Kenna is very drawn to Aralic, but wants to be loved for her, not because she might be someone's reincarnation. The sex is hot and exciting, I felt that the characters really wanted each other and weren't just going through the motions. I thought that Nephilim War: Book 2 was a riveting story with werewolves, angels, and vampires among the cast of supernatural characters throughout the story. Adrienne Kama has created a world that is rich and exciting; with a lot of action that kept me highly entertained.
