| Amanda Bradshaw is a 20th century librarian in New York City, who has been
brought back to the old west by a stranger. She lands in a stagecoach and is
brought to the town of Calico as the new school teacher. She was intelligent
to
know she had stepped back in time. Not knowing how she could go back to
modern New York City she goes to Dory's house, where the town had rented her
a
room. The town Marshall, Austin Riley, is always there to do things with
her,
but when any emergency happens in the town he seems to disappear.
The townspeople seem to talk about Matt Mallory as if he were a villain. Though Amanda seems to see only the good in him. He has a small daughter living with him and Amanda and the little girl hit it off. He takes care of her sprained ankle and she grows to love him. How can the people think this kind father and thoughtful friend is a criminal? NEW PRINTS IN CALICO, by Jennifer Lynn is a fast paced story, causing the reader to turn each page to get to the very satisfactory ending. The characters are strong and led me in until I couldn't lay the book down until I was finished. I thoroughly enjoyed this step back in time and found I along with Amanda definitely wanted to live in the past. I recommend any novel by Ms. Lynn as It was an enjoyable read and I look forward to her next novel.
