Arnie, a homeless ex con, grew up on the streets of Portland. His street smarts help immensely when he and Dr. Tess Lockhart are abducted by aliens who travel the galaxy to get residents for their zoo. He works to outsmart the beings who prefer to kill anyone who gets in their way while she cares for the other inmates. An injured captive becomes a special project for Tess. At first she just wants to save his life but along the way Roan's personality and strength capture her heart.

Isabel L. Martens tells one of those tales that satisfies our thirst for a great love story. It also opens our mind to the question of what we would do in Tess' shoes. Would we be a survivor and follow Arnie's advice to find our niche in something that makes us needed? Or would we fight, giving up any chance of survival?

Great characters fill the pages as we travel to the worlds of the Flyers and Norans. From the youngest to the oldest these aliens pull us into their lives and capture our heart. Len, Roan, Sye, Tess, Arnie all prove that survival is often the key to success in life and love. Arnie's humor is sure to bring a bunch of chuckles as are the antics of the pubescent winged flyers and their girlfriends. Anyone who's ever raised a teenager will find them easy to recognize whatever the species.

This is one of those well crafted books than can be thought-provoking or just plain fun. With a little suspense and some great humor the author makes this romance unique and one of those stories that‘s hard to put down.
