Gabe's long term relationship had begun to fizzle out when he met Jill and fell in love. But when he finds out that his fiancée is pregnant he does the honorable thing and marries her. He's never forgotten Jill and although he's tried to contact her over the years, she refused his calls. Now she's coming home and he's no longer married. Can he break down the wall that Jill has erected around herself?

Night Heat is an emotional story that had me rooting for the couple. We have two people that clearly loved each other but Jill, having been hurt badly, finds it hard to break down the emotional barriers she erected around herself. Gabe knows what he did broke her heart, but he didn't realize just how much and just how hard it would be to win her back. Their sexual relationship plays heavily in their story and works well. Intense and emotionally charged, it oozes off the pages. Each has grown in what they desire in bed and their story features light bondage scenes. Again, this works well within the story. However, Desiree has added a twist into the mix. Scandal, betrayal, greed, and an ex-wife add an interesting element with a slight suspenseful feel that kept me glued to the pages. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. Desiree is fast becoming a favorite author of mine.
