A Light in the Darkness
Miranda wishes revenge on the man who inflicted her with a horrible fate by turning her into a vampire over 3000 years ago. Every time she tries to destroy him, he has a way of dodging her. Theodore has been Miranda’s protector from the moment she was changed into a vampire. He has loved her forever and only hoped she would return his love. After a terrible twist inflicts conflict on their lives bringing them back together, the only way to destroy what the terrible evil has spun in their lives is to bring love into their life. But it will take more than Miranda and Theodore’s love. First they must band with some vampires and a guardian angel if they wish the madness to stop. A Light in the Darkness is wonderfully done as vampires with emotions carry strength in the story as good combats evil. This is one enticing tale this reader enjoyed.

Out of the Night
Patricia Goodman walked out on her husband Jim and left him to raise their daughter, Beth alone. Jim tries to help Beth with her disturbing nightmares since Patricia’s leaving. When he meets someone one night that might be able to help, he wonders if she is evil or good especially after he witnesses her feeding from someone, but Spring is not an evil vampire and she has to show Jim she has a huge caring heart. She can help Beth, but first they must learn to trust each other and their blossoming love that grows between them. Out of the Night is a lovely story with refreshing characters that reach out and touch the reader. The author did a superb job in this poignant read.

Nightlife Anthology houses two stories that are well-written and deliver the characters so well. The characters breathe life in both tales as they practically jump from the pages. Miranda and Theodore have a relationship that sizzles when they work together and Jim and Spring’s love for the other is so wonderfully done, that it makes the heart leap for joy. Ms. Shinn does a fabulous job in these two stories. This reader could tell she put her heart and soul into the blending of these two terrific tales. If you ever wanted a keeper, this book is the one to have on the shelves.
