Layton Grayhawk has been lusting after Tempest Marshall for years. Though they work together, he does not see that as a problem. The only problem is getting Tempest to admit she wants him too. And then fate intervenes on Valentine's Day, throwing the couple together for a steamy night in which they both unleash their hearts' desires. Tempest confesses her desire for a child and Layton eagerly agrees. He believes their hearts are in accord, but he is in for a rude awakening when Tempest confesses another part of her heart's desire. She wants to name her baby after her dead lover. All Layton wants is to live happily-ever-after with Tempest. Is compromise a possibility for this lovelorn pair?

Nights of Desire is definitely focused on the hero and heroine. There is not much external conflict beyond their need to figure out what love and loyalty to each other means. However, do not let lack of external conflict fool you. This is a very focused and driven story with emotions driving the characters. Tempest is very unsure of her growing relationship with Layton, while Layton is determined to move things along rapidly. He wants marriage and a family ASAP. Tempest certainly cares about Layton, but she also wants to explore their growing connection a bit more. I understood both their concerns so it was definitely interesting to watch it all play out. Nights of Desire is a playful romance, a serious romance, and a very sexy romance starring two leads that were interesting and clever. It also seems possible that some of the secondary characters from this story may get their own romance too!
