| Derek Romano believes in duty to family but one thing the vampire loves more than anything is partying or surfing. When a politician’s daughter is kidnapped and he is called to be her rescuer, it puts a restraint on his party life. He learns that Zadur has captured her, and feels certain that he can find a way of freeing her from the evil ancient vampire. Waking up and finding himself chained to the beauty certainly was not part of the plan. It was one added bonus that sent fireworks to his heart. Leesa is lost when it comes to love. She wanted to escape her deranged father not be abducted by Zadur. Determined to free herself, she is surprised to find herself chained to a handsome sexy man. He is a vampire and she is human but they feel something that seems to heat between them. When Leesa formulates a plan for Derek to sink his teeth into her and turn her into a werewolf, she feels she will finally have freedom. He doesn’t quite understand her method of thinking and as they continue to plot an escape, Zadur is busy working on his own scheme.
I do believe that steam actually rises from the pages of A Night to Howl after Leesa and Derek make a connection with the other. He is a party animal that enjoys a good time while always considering his family’s safety. To me, loving, caring, devoted and being happy sums up Derek. Leesa only wishes to escape a father and a way of life that seems to drag her down. She may come off as a bit fearful at times, but she is determined to be her own person. Kell Casey takes a wonderful plot, great dialogue, some interesting characters, and seasons with some sensations that stirs the reader to create a dynamite read. This stimulating tale of the Romano family will have the reader waiting to learn more about this attention-grabbing family.
