| Anna is being seduced by a man in her dreams. She doesn't know why, but he scares her. When the man shows up in the flesh, she finds out he's more than a man, he's a beast. Corwyn shows up and saves her from him, and they fall in love. Have they seen the last of the beast? Or is this only the beginning?
Night Warriors is really two books in one. There is the story of Corwyn and Anna, and then there is the story of their daughter Erin and her love Talon. Corwyn is a likeable character that is strong and loves his woman without boundaries. Anna is a very strong person who is caught in a situation beyond her control. Their daughter is without a doubt the focus of the story, but if I tell you about her it would give too much away. The book is very long, over 450 pages. I had a hard time keeping my attention on it, I felt it dragged a little bit in places. Brenna Lyons describes a culture that is rich and varied. While there is a glossary in the back of the book to tell you what some of the words mean, I found it awkward to use, because I don't like flipping back and forth, particularly in an e-book. There is also an explanation of the culture and customs in the back of the book, but it was awkward and I didn't discover it until I was at the end of the book. There was so much terminology and cultural idiosyncrasies that I lost track several times and had to stop and think about what a phrase meant or a gesture. The story had a lot going for it, and I liked it, but it was too long. I think I would have liked it better if the stories of Anna and Corwyn were separate from their daughter Erin's. There are a lot of feelings flying around, but there didn't seem to be a lot of involved sex scenes like I am used to seeing in erotica, although the scenes that are there are pretty steamy. It is more about the story of the characters and how they deal with what's handed to them. I think it's great to see a woman that can stand up for herself and save the world in the process. Erin's reactions are what you would expect of a woman in her situation, and that's what made her so likeable. Overall, I liked the book and would recommend it to someone who likes the kind of involved world that Brenna Lyons creates.
