Erin did the impossible as a child; she fought off an ancient evil by herself. After her encounter she feels more training is needed and decided to intensify her training as a warrior. She makes a friend is warrior Curt and as he trains her they become close friends. When Erin realizes her feelings are changing she leaves knowing Curt will never see her as anything more than a little sister. Then years pass and she is brought back to Curt's domain, only now she is a woman and intends for him to see her that way. Can she be around Curt and control the desire she feels for him?

Curt knows what happened to Erin and when she comes to his domain to train they become fast friends. Curt sees Erin as more of a little sister than a warrior but admires her spirit. Then for some reason Erin decides to leave and Curt is lost to the reason why. Years later Erin returns, but not as the child he knew. Erin is woman now and Curt has feelings for her that he never felt. Erin keeps away from him and the friendship they had as children seemed to have disappeared. Curt fights his feelings for Erin not wanting to ruin their friendship, but what he doesn't know is that Erin has plans of her own.

This book is really interesting to read, but be warned that it is very long. There is a lot of emphasis put on the first half and Erin's childhood, there is also the side story of her brother Hunter and his mate Sarah. This book has a lot of things going on at once and it's impossible to read in one sitting. The story is interesting but can lag at times and there are so many characters you may get confused along the way. The one thing I loved is Erin's spirit throughout the entire book, she was very courageous and brave and that didn't change from her childhood to adulthood. I didn't read the first one in the series and kept up with this one just fine, but those who want the entire story may want to go back and get the background information.
