But Jicar has responsibilities to his planet and he cannot mate with a mysterious stranger.
No Holes Barred: The Awakening is an interesting short story with a twist on a classic romance of a handsome prince awakening a beautiful princess. In this case the princess is not asleep but she’s empty of emotions, she cannot even feel despair at her fate! The handsome prince will try his best to awaken her emotions with intense sensuality. He finds her very inability to experience lust or desire the ultimate challenge. Jicar seemed a bit obnoxious at the start, a bored Don Juan type. But as they get to know each other he shows deeper emotions. His feelings for this mystery woman confuse yet draw him like a moth to a flame. Britenia begins to feel twinges of emotions when she thinks about Jicar. Confused so many new feelings, she knows he brings out something different than she has ever known. She doesn’t react like that to any other man. The story has an interesting twist when Jicar finds out Britenia’s full identity. If you can believe that Jicar can sense that Britenia is his true mate, then his own emotional rollercoaster makes sense. No Holes Barred: The Awakening is a good read when you’re in the mood for something quick and sexy with a romantic ending.
