Not Her Mr. Right

Emma Slade lived a life of excessives! Her size (in her opinion) was excessive; she was always the “fat” kid, the overly-curvy woman. There was one reason why men were interested in dating her---only one! Her parents were excessive; her mother, living two streets away, drove her crazy worrying because of her lack of dates! No matter what her father or brother said to try to help, her mother could not let her live her life as she wanted.

To say that all changed the day Jake Ryder walked into her office would be an understatement. She fought long and hard to keep him from getting close enough to hurt her, but she just could not resist him in the long run! The fact that he was a successful attorney, friend of her boss, acquaintance of her brother, and extremely interested in her, made her skeptical but finally, she was willing to take a chance!

Ms. Carrington has written a wonderfully romantic story about a man who has to work very hard to get to know the woman of his dreams. Emma did not want a man (she said) and she was not interested in someone who was so successful that she might be put into the position of being made fun of. After all, she had heard all the jokes many times. This scenario is developed brilliantly; the sub characters are, in no way, minor. Each has a definite place in this storyline and, even though their attention is unwarranted, it is comical. Not only does Ms. Carrington present the serious side of romance; she allows us to view the ridiculous points of view that occur in real life, but seldom in novels.

Not Her Mr. Right is an incredible love story which I could not put down. I honestly read it through in one sitting; there are typical situations within the story, but the author manages to add a few surprises. I cannot say enough about this book; I wholeheartedly recommend it! Kudos to Ms. Carrington!
