| Juliet Truesdale is still lusting over government agent Grant Gerard in this second series installment. This time, Gerard is doing the talking, and it’s obvious he returns Juliet’s affection.
Juliet’s neighbor, Adam Trudeau, is somehow connected to a major criminal named Alexis Guthrie. Gerard needs to prove the connection, and he uses bookstore owner Juliet as bait. She is Adam’s neighbor, and he has tried to date her. Both leads are smart and self-sufficient, clever and sophisticated. But are they a match for the master criminal? While the two avoid danger, author Green sets the stage for further installments of this series of short novels. It was interesting to have the story told from the male point of view, but I enjoyed the book’s predecessor, A Night of NovelTea, more. Gerard is smooth and sexy, but I find Juliet’s not-so-repressed librarian persona more intriguing. She obviously finds life as a spy exciting, even though she fears for her life and Grant’s. She’s not the possessive type, but readers will be rooting for a happily-ever-after before the series ends. This is a fun read.
