| Carly Evans, a house-wife for the past almost thirty years with grown up kids, becomes a widow after her beloved husband succumbs to a heart attack. Finding herself alone after so long, she goes on road to re-discovering herself, with the help of her long time friends. She's moving on from what she knew and what she loved.
Since I started reading romance books, it has always been about couples in their late teens to early forties. The ones in thirties and forties usually have had some sort of past history together. So when I started reading this book, it totally took me by surprise when I realized that the heroine, Carly Evans, was in her fifties and just became a widow. The way she deals with her new status is commendable. The singles scene she enters is with total strangers with no prior acquaintance. It's a journey of life after the age of fifty, a new beginning. With a small twist of psychic gifts, professional jealousy and sexual relationships, it's a heart-warming tale of love and re-discovering one's self and moving on. It made me realize that life can change any moment and the later it is in life, the more difficult it is to accept, change and move. Only people with a strong will and humor are able to conquer it to live again. I highly recommend this book to every man and woman of any age group. It'll help you understand your life and that of your parents and grandparents. I'll definitely keep this book to read over and over as I get older, to learn more about life and change. I rated this book for its concept which is remarkably refreshing from anything I have read until now and the main character Carly Evans who is admirable for her blunt way of dealing with life and her friends from childhood, each special in her own way. Overall, it's a good read when you are feeling down and upset about life.
