Isobel Trinidad was an independent woman from Wayback, Texas. She was determined that no man would ever rule her life as her father did the lives of her mother and her. She, known as Issy to her friends, was a rodeo barrel racer who, along with her horse Lizzy, competed as often as possible. When we first met Issy, she was on her way into The Blue Bug Saloon with a bull whip. She planned to horse whip a man who had painted her barn yellow. The storyline got more colourful as it progressed.

Warner Keyson was a stranger in town. The sheriff had requested his help. As a state fire marshal, he was there to examine three separate recent fires. He saw Issy entering the saloon and decided he didn’t want to miss anything. Wayback would definitely never be the same after he and Issy hooked up.

Ms. Autumn Jordan has written the latest of the Wayback, Texas books. It is a complement to the others I’ve read. It’s always interesting to revisit old friends and meet new ones. I was definitely not disappointed when reading this one. This is a lively look at another couple who met their one and only within the confines of Wayback.

These two main characters, as well as the secondary ones, made this light-hearted rodeo romp flow smoothly. The story is fast paced and interesting. There is also some drama and suspense. There is something for almost anyone to enjoy. The sensuality was sizzling and somewhat graphic. It was fitting to the book, however, and added to the manuscript. It was not offensive, but somewhat vivid.

I enjoyed getting reacquainted with the townsfolk of Wayback and meeting these latest interesting people. I recommend that you read this book. You’ll be glad you did.
