| Halley and her friend Kaiti are at a bar when someone slips a drug in Halley's drink and she blacks out. Nick is there with his friend Damon and he watches the whole episode with Halley. When Nick first sees Halley, he is taken aback by the emotions and gut reaction that he has to her. He's not ready for a relationship and would rather drown in booze and sex then have another. Halley is out with Kaiti to try to get some sort of normalcy in her life again. They are celebrating the start of their new bakery together.
When Nick witnesses the attack on Halley, his protective instincts take over and never let up. I love a total alpha male that takes matters in his own hands but is loving and very tender towards his lady. For the first time in years, Halley feels safe, no anxiety attacks, and no fear when she is in Nick's arms. I really don't know where to start on my review of Obsessed. I'm a huge fan of mainstream romantic suspense, so I decided to take a chance on erotic romantic suspense. I was not disappointed at all. Lisa Sanchez is right up there many authors I like with her book Obsessed. It was fast paced, intense, suspenseful and most importantly, tender. While reading Obsessed, I was taken aback by the very suspenseful moments. They were intense and not overly played. I never figured out who the villain was until the very end. I love a suspense book like Obsessed that keeps the reader guessing into the end. While the book was intense at times, it was also very tender and loving to me. The protective instinct that Nick has to protect Halley at all costs is sweet and not overbearing. You would definitely want Nick in your corner. Halley has much to overcome and does with the tender love and care of Nick. I would highly recommend Obsessed to anyone that wants a fast paced, suspenseful, yet highly loving and tender read about two people that need each other in ways even they didn't know they needed someone.
