| Demitri Demakis just lost Basil, the man he loved, to cancer. After Basil died, Demitri left Greece and did his best not to look back. He settled down in a college town in Idaho to be with his brother. Demitri may try to play it cool but being secretive doesn't help when one of your brothers is a shrink and your heart is quickly being stolen by a handsome soccer coach.
Aaron Billings is the soccer coach who is unknowingly stealing Demitri's heart. He has always been the type of man people gravitate to but for some reason it seems as though Demitri is immune to his easy going charm. Aaron and Demitri are both in-depth characters that I really enjoyed getting to know better. The slow and steady build of a real relationship off set and the quick and fiery romance between Demitri and Aaron. Aaron had realized he finally found a nice guy after a long string of jerks and Demitri keeps him just plain confused with hot kisses and hotter jealousy. Demitri does his best to let go of the ghosts from his past while trying to let himself love again. Aaron is a great coach and even helps a young man who is being gay bashed. Demitri is hiding secrets from his family but that doesn't stop him from wanting to helping those around him. Campus Cravings: Off Season is the fourth book in the Campus Cravings series according to the author's website and I can't help but feel I am missing out on a great series of books. The twelfth Campus Craving book was written in late 2008 so I may just have to catch up. This book is a powerful story about heartache, love, and letting go. Carol Lynne has made mending a broken heart into poetry with this constant battle between remembering the past and living in the now.
