| Angela works for an ad agency. She hates her job, but needs to eat and her preferred and previous profession as an actress just wasn't going that well. Her boss is missing, quitting without telling the management does not seem to be unusual in her firm, and she and her roommate Kimberley are trying to hold onto one of the firm's biggest accounts. Macabre Factor caters to the Goth culture and those who pretend to be vampires. Little did she know that vampires actually do exist. A trip to The House of Usher changes her life and introduces her to a real vampire. Her life will never be the same.
I loved this book. Angela is a fun character. She is normal in a world gone crazy with her messy room and is a genuinely kind person. That is unusual in the cut throat advertising world, her roommate Kimberley an example of what is typical in her firm. Sully and Moravia, the Macabre Factor people are very creepy, more so than the real vampires. I love the Eric character, he is everything a vampire should be, sexy, mysterious, and dangerous. It is funny that he meets Angela in a club full of people who would love to be just like him, and who don't believe vampires really exist. The plot is engrossing, full of sensual love scenes and suspenseful action scenes. The setting of San Francisco is beautifully described and really lends itself to the plot. This is a wonderful addition to the vampire romance/urban fantasy genre and I hope to read more like it from this author.
