Griffin Hunter promised her forever. A week later he married her wild sister Diane. Cassie ran from Griffin, her family, the town and has made a life for herself in Tampa. Having to return to Texas after her mother died is the hardest thing she's ever had to do. Griffin is determined to get her back. Many in the town are sure he killed Diane, they just can't prove it. The harder they push Cassie the more tenacious she becomes about clearing his name and finding who really killed her sister.

Desiree Holt knows how to tell a suspenseful yarn that will get you involved and keep you guessing to the very end. Cassie is a great character. >From the devastation of being the good girl no one respects and even her family rejects she transitions to the townspeople's nemesis when she refuses to give up on her man. Every time she gets deluged with calls telling her to stop she just gets more tenacious.

The way Ms. Holt writes about the tactics of the hypocrites in the community easily sways me to Cassie's and Griffin's side too. The ones harassing the two are willing to use his lawn service, anxious to be the one to make a commission selling their houses, always offering advice. But no one is willing to look for the real killer when he has an airtight alibi and Diane fooled around with anyone in pants. The Chief of Police even sat on a key piece of evidence for six years. And no one but Cassie and Griffin looks into the discrepancies involved in the assumed suicide of Cassie's dad. Threats just give them more spunk until they're able to find a key piece of the puzzle that would let them find the real villain.

This is a very well done erotic suspense as the two build the life they have fantasized about for years. Life didn't play fair with them but they're able to rise above the crowd and their own pain. Cassie and Griffin have a strength of character that most of us strive for! This is a great story..
