| Sunny Forester, twenty five years old, owned (she thought) Happy’s Homestyle Diner, after her brother’s (Happy) death a few weeks ago. He had left her to run the place for years, never being a dependable man because he loved to ramble and gamble. Little did she know that immediately before his car accident which caused his death, he had sold his diner to Matt McBride to pay his rapidly rising gambling deaths. Matt saw Sunny at the funeral but decided to wait before identifying himself.
Sunny’s dad and brother had always taken her for granted. They were never available to help her. She had grown accustomed to having to deal with problems alone. And then, Matt arrived at her diner and offered to help her. He did not, however, tell her that he owned the business. He decided to save that information for later. He planned to help her but he did not plan to fall in love. I must say that Ms. Rita Thedford has, once again, written an outstanding, fast-paced book which is impossible to put down. Her writing standard has again excelled expectations. Her characters are to-die-for and her alpha males are spellbinding. The men are strong and the women who deal with them are equally powerful. She writes her cast of people with charm and integrity. They stand out as greatly as the bad ones give way to suspense actions. Ms. Thedford writes intensely erotic, tender, explosive scenes which her readers have come to expect. The sensual incidents are so volatile that she quickly becomes a “must-read” author. The suspenseful situations are tense, but well-written. Personally, I do not like a lot of tension in a book. She delivers a stressful conflict without overpowering the main romantic involvement. I love the style, as well as the technique this author uses. Her storyline, especially in this case, is always superb. I look forward to her next offering in this series. Meanwhile, I wholeheartedly recommend that you hurry to read this book. It is well worth the effort. You will be thrilled that you did.
