| Charlie Aldrich Thornton thought she would never return to the home where she grew up. But when her brother, Mason asks her to move back with him, so that they can get to know each other, she agrees to it. She thought she had left all the scandals behind, but when she arrives home, they all come back to haunt her.
Beau Jessup has worked hard his entire life. After his father is framed and sent to prison for the rest of his life, Beau, his brother, Jake and his sister, Rain are left with only the barely staying afloat farm. The three of them work hard and make the farm a huge success, but when Charlie comes home all the memories and scandal do also. When Beau and Charlie meet, they are instantly attracted to one another, but there are so many obstacles in their way. Charlie’s father is the one who set Beau’s father up, and then there is always Beau’s ex-wife, to cause trouble. Eve Asbury has succeeded in writing such a great story that I felt like I knew the characters. They are so realistic. I felt their pain, fear, happiness, and their love for one another. It kept on the edge of my seat and anxious to turn the next page. Charlie is such a strong heroine, and Beau is just the right man for her. This is just a great story in every aspect. I cannot wait to read the next story by this author.
