| Kaitlyn McCann is working on her dissertation to complete her Ph.D. She's diligently researching the contribution of women to the American Revolution. Upon completion, she will be well on her way to becoming a scholar with a boring life as a professor, just as her father had always wanted. But when she's suddenly swept back in time, two hundred years, into the arms of the sexiest, muscle bound soldier, she will get to see first-hand how women helped during the war. She will also lose her heart.
Captain Gabriel O’Connor is a soldier with honor and iron control. But when he rescues a damsel in distress from being attacked by some drunks, he finds his control might not be as strong as he thought. He's drawn to Kaitlyn, not just her beauty, but also her quick wit and brains as well. Very quickly she turns his world upside down and he finds himself fighting to hold on to her, no matter what. This was a well-written story of love, war and self-discovery. Kaitlyn was always a shy, bookish girl, never really noticed by men until she was suddenly swept back in time. Gabriel is the perfect man, strong, gorgeous and honorable. Laura Glenn has written with such clarity the stress and worry of living in the past during a time of war and the struggle of two people to love and hold onto love. I really enjoyed this story, even though at times I wanted to shake the heroine and make her see what was right in front of her. Ultimately, I found this to be a touching story of love and would highly recommend this one to anyone who is looking for a sweet, spicy love story.
