Elle Parson is living pay check to pay check and she just got fired because she wouldn’t date the boss when suddenly she discovers she has just won the Texas Two-Step Lottery for $10 million dollars. Then someone tries to steal her purse with the lottery ticket, she accidently messes up a police stake out and someone seems to be after her. Nick Damato is a Houston cop trying to catch the Houston Marauder when he stops a mugger from taking off with Elle’s purse and botches his stake out. What is it about this gorgeous woman that has all his systems firing on full alert? Elle can’t believe how attracted she is to Nick and kisses him to thank him for rescuing her and nearly self destructs from the chemistry in that kiss. Will Nick get the bad guy or will Elle prove to be too much distraction?

Elle is feisty, self assured, and unwilling to just sit back and let the world pound on her. She has fought tooth and nail to drag herself up to where she is barely above the water and then the lottery win seems like the answer to her prayers, or is it? Elle has to decide if money makes the woman or if money is just a handy tool. Nick Damato is one hot detective and the chemistry between him and Elle is blistering. But Elle also brings out his stubborn, protective nature too. I enjoyed the interaction between these two strong personalities and watching them struggle to figure out what is going on and who is after Elle. The action starts right at the beginning and the suspense builds right up to the conclusion of the story. Are you looking for an entertaining romantic suspense with strong characters, a murderous bad guy, and lots of chemistry? Then you’ll like Pay Dirt.
