This anthology is a compilation of stories about the resilience of women. Each of these authors is a high profile writer well-known in her field. Never before have I had the opportunity to read such an offering.

Each story highlighted a certain problem and the way the solution affected her future. Sweet Dreams by Lori Foster started the book. She told about a couple who had remained friends for over five years while Sara built up her business. Then she and Jamison dreamed erotically about each other on the same night. Erin McCarthy, in Unpredictable shared the story of Hannah, the psychic, who refused to date the cop she met because she considered her ability a disability.

Toni Blake wrote After Hours regarding Maria and her boss, Michael, who both realized they were in love with each other just as she was offered her dream job. This story was followed by Last of the Red Hot Mamas by Dianne Castell. The new high school principal received an unforgettable welcome. Karen Kelley gave us the story of Jennifer and Devon, high school sweethearts explained in Salesman of the Year. We were given the story of love at the age of 65 in Rosemary Laurey’s Dance the Fandango.

Felicity couldn’t allow Jason to leave town without knowing how she felt about him in Girl Next Door by Janice Maynard. Chicken Soup for Annie explored the concept of a widow raising a child on minimum wage because her husband spent all their money and then was killed. She visited Pastor Josh at the supply store but he thought she was a volunteer. Lucy Monroe treated us to No Angel about Cheryl who fed her apology roses to the garbage disposal.

Angel in the Alley, by Patricia Sargeant, explained about a homeless man who helped Sara get her bakery open. Hannah’s Choice by Kay Stockham showed how an abused young woman could have to fight her entire life to escape the danger. And finally, J.C. Wilder gave us The Mouse Roared, which was the perfect ending for the book.

The book was fabulous.
