| Josh Gregory bids for a date with Regan Samuels at a Charity Auction because she seems like the most down to earth woman there. His dream is to have a wife, family, and children someday to make his life complete. Regan is shocked to find out the handsome motorcycle riding man that makes her pulse race is a minister. She's never been a church going person. He's the most caring man she's ever been around. And her teenage son Luke adores him. Regan has a secret in her past that she feels no one could ever forgive, especially not a man of God.
Laurie Larsen pens a unique tale. Regan is a hard working, loving mother burdened with something from her past that seems to handicap her future. Josh is a dedicated minister who works well with teens, the elderly, and anyone in between. Both have a past that drives them to be better people in different ways. Rick, Regan's ex, seems to be a real cad. Their relationship post divorce is competitive and rocky. He has no qualms about making waves or threats. Luke is a cool teenager. Ms. Larsen seems to know the ways of teens well as she sometimes gets us into his head in a totally believable way. This book is a faith journey as well as an excellent love story. The author give us a relationship that isn't easily built. She also shows subtly how God works in mysterious ways to have things happen at the right time and right place for the best results. The characters and dialogue are well crafted to let us look inside the hearts of the players in a way that draws us to them. It's easy to get emotionally involved in many of the scenarios. This is a truly uplifting kind of book well worth the read.
