|Eloise is an up and coming star in the music scene. She's almost living her dream. The gossip rags and rumor mill had had a field day over her supposed affairs. None of it mattered until her husband believed the stories. Rick decided to get some payback by setting up seduction scene and letting Eloise walk in on it. His scheme worked perfectly; however, he soon realized he was wrong. Eloise left him and their marriage. A year later, she needs security to keep her from being mobbed and Rick's company has the job. He plans to make the most of this opportunity and win Eloise back. But even if they can overcome the past, new rumors and threats are looming and Rick didn't trust her enough the first time around.
This is a fascinating second chance story. The characters felt and reacted so real. It's a short read but I grew very attached to Eloise and Rick. The sex is incredibly sensual. The author has a way with these love scenes. They're almost spiritual. I've not read many books that take place within the music industry but it's really a great setting. The media's questionable integrity and the public's appetite for trash are very timely issues. There are no vampires, shifters or aliens to distract the reader so the author has to engage us with just the people, the problem and the dialogue. Ms. Rush more than rises to the challenge. I'm not sure I'd make the same decision as Eloise but I do understand hers. I highly recommend this very sexy love story and definitely be looking for more by this author.
