Beau and his assistant Adam have been having an affair for about a year. When Beau overhears a phone call to Adam causing him to think that there is another man in Adam’s life, he instantly becomes jealous. When Beau finds out that it was not another man but Adam’s son, he starts to rethink their relationship and realizes he is in love with Adam and wants something more permanent. Adam has been in love with Beau from the beginning but is afraid to enter into a relationship because of how it might affect his son if it doesn’t work out. It’s up to Beau to convince Adam he really loves him and wants a relationship with him and his son.

This book is part of a series but stands alone and is a quick read. I wasn’t sure I was going to like it as I read the prologue, because the character of Beau did not seem very likable and there wasn’t much personality to Adam. But once I got into the actual story it seemed to draw me in and moved smoothly and quickly, I found it hard put down because I wanted to see how things would turn out between the characters. I liked the way the author did not make this a pat love story and that you can see some of the flaws in the characters, making them more human instead of too perfect to be real. While there is not a lot of sex in the story what is there tends to be detailed and the language a bit coarse which bothered me some, more so because I didn’t feel the story needed it. Overall this is a nice story with a few surprises. A good read for when you have a little time on your hands.
