| Johnni Aitken was raised on football. Her father is such a big fan that he named his only daughter after Johnny Unitas. She didn't want to be a mechanic her whole life and her father was a little overprotective, so she moved from San Francisco to Indianapolis to start a new life. She finds a job at a sports bar and is thrilled to find out later that it is owned by one of her favorite ex-players, former quarterback Donovan Kasek. He is even better looking than she imagined and they are immediately attracted to each other. Donovan is having a little trouble at this time. The Super Bowl is coming up and his little brother Jackson is the starting quarterback against his former team. He feels that he is a has-been and that his former addiction to painkillers makes him a loser. He is very attracted to Johnni, but doesn't think that he is good enough for her. Their attraction is so intense that neither of them is going to have a choice.
This is a great story with very sympathetic characters and extremely hot love scenes. Johnni is a great character with a wonderful empathetic spirit. Her rescue of the two abused dogs is a great example of her courage. Donovan, in a way, is one of her strays also, a little beat up and in need of encouragement. Johnni helps him see just how great a guy he is. The other characters in the story are also very vivid, especially Jackson, Donovan's brother, who is nervous about going into the Super Bowl with a shoulder injury. Due to Donovan's problems, he is afraid to take painkillers. This is a story that in addition to very hot love scenes also has a really good plot.
