Samael is part of a fabulous series. Don't let that deter you though - each book can stand on its own. I would definitely recommend all of them though. Ms. McClure is one of the best paranormal authors out there in my opinion. She is able to combine a very original story with great characters, witty dialog, incredibly sensual love scenes, and emotional intensity. Samael is the ultimate sexy hero - complex, protective, but with a lighthearted side. He puts Jade's needs before his own, and is willing to lay down his life for her. Jade is tough, with a kick-ass attitude - but she also has her fair share of fears and insecurities, which makes it hard for her to open up. The journey these two go through is by turns suspenseful, funny, action-packed, and heart wrenching. Another awesome story by Dawn McClure - don't miss this one!
