| As soon as I started reading, I felt as if I'd returned to my comfortable home at Hearts Crossing Ranch. Not only did I reunite with couples from the first two books in the series, but I also found information about the others that was only alluded to in the last book.
Hooper Martin had survived testicular cancer. He had a rough battle and he'd lived through a high-profile divorce. He was now about ready to allow God to give him the love of a woman who not only loved God but would be a mother to his little girl, Ella. Hoop's ex-wife had left without a word and never returned. Ella couldn't understand why she didn't have a mother. Malia Cameron, known as Mallie, attended the weekend wedding of Hoop's brother. She was the "plus one" for her brother Brian who was the college roommate of the groom-to-be. His girlfriend had dumped him and he was determined not to be alone during the wedding festivities. Mallie needed the diversion. She had also fought, and was still struggling, with brain cancer. Tanya Hanson has, once again, gripped my attention from the beginning. She didn't let up her intensity throughout the entire book to the spectacular ending. It was definitely a surprise ending like only Hanson can pull off. These main characters came from different places in life. They had, however, much in common in their on-going suffering with the disease of cancer. Their outlooks on life were totally different as were their beliefs in God and His place in their lives. Hanson has taken this Martin family and reintroduced us to a well-rounded group of believers who witnessed God's love and power to everyone. Regardless of circumstances, these strong people knew how to exemplify love to those around them. I loved this book, as I expect to whenever I see the author's name. Hanson has become a "must-read" for me. I wholeheartedly recommend this book to others. It will be a favorite to readers who enjoy commitment through adversity and wonderfully happily-ever-afters.
