Taylor Donovan is focussed on just one thing: getting ahead in her law firm. She’s a darn good lawyer, and after leaving cheating fiancé Daniel, she has little time for men.

Jason Andrews, THE top movie star and billed as “The Sexiest Man Alive” in all the tabloids, is going to play a lawyer in his next film. Taylor’s boss, Sam Blakely, wants her to train him. Taylor, of course, has no use for his cocky I’m-so-special attitude.

Naturally, the sparks fly between the two in this engaging romance. Taylor finds some hidden layers in Jason’s personality. And Jason can’t believe she is not falling at his feet. The two main characters are fun to read about. Both the legal and LA movie settings feel real.

The supporting cast is great as well. Scott Casey is a “contender” for top stardom, and he wants to bring Jason down. Jason’s college roommate and best buddy Jeremy Shelby is a likable, down-to-earth screenwriter. Jeremy specializes in films about bloodsucking vampire aliens and such. Taylor’s pals from Chicago, Val and Kate, are ideal girl buddies, sensible, perceptive, and witty.

Taylor is a bit straight-laced, trying to avoid all unprofessional and unethical behavior. But she can’t control her heart. Jason is used to getting his own way, but he still has admirable qualities. The growth and development of both Jason and Taylor is a joy. There are no lurid sex scenes here, but the relationship grows at a strong and steady pace. Author Julie James has done an excellent job, giving us characters we really care about and an unlikely but realistic romance.
