Elspeth Stewart was happy her wedding day didn't happen as her father planned with Lachlan Drummond. Rob MacLaren had kidnapped her just as his first wife was kidnapped by Drummond several years earlier. Rob's wife's kidnapping ended tragically when she threw herself from the top room window where Drummond defiled her and kept her captive. Rob's plans went a little awry when he realized he was falling in love with Elspeth, his beautiful captive.

This Scottish novel is a pure pleasure to read. From the start, our eyes are delighted with the sensual pictures the words deliver. Steamy, sultry all encompassing thoughts at every turn, delivering a fine piece of work. Rob MacLaren gives us a determined, sturdy figure of a man in perfect form, delivering to Elspeth the fine art of sensual pleasure, showing the maiden lady that a man could show a woman a good time without actually taking her sexually. Rob always had a decent heart. His love for his first wife prevented him from showing Elspeth his love, but dreams from his dear departed helped him to understand he could love again.

Elspeth has the power to see but a few seconds in the immediate future, and she shows strength and courage beyond the call of duty as she also falls for her captor. Her unveiled love put her in a tough spot, giving you a sense of wanting to root for her all the more. The secondary characters are just as enlightening and engaging as the primary characters. The writing is so smooth you just don't want to put the book down. I really loved this book for both Connie Mason and Mia Marlowe both delivered a wonderful piece of reading material.
