| Mallory Westfall is not happy to see Jackson Hart, who has come back to town to bury his mother. Fifteen years have gone by since they last saw one another, and he cannot forget that she walked away from him when he needed her. Mallory has suffered greatly for what she did, but she could not tell him the reason she left him, that her father would ruin him if she didn't give him up. Now, she has another secret. The fourteen year old boy, Jacob, is not her ex-husband's, but is Jackson's. They fight their feelings for one another, but their love for one another is still there. But will they be able to conquer the problems and forgive the past so they may have a life together?
This was an enjoyable book. I liked both Jackson and Mallory. The author did an excellent job of showing both Mallory and Jackson's feelings, their doubts and their continued attraction. The secondary characters are also good, the father so much so I wanted to wring his neck. Another plus in this book is the way a small town reacts to people, their gossip, their set-in-their-ways actions. The love scenes between Mallory and Jackson are excellent, showing a great deal of emotion. The tension between the two escalates, as it does between Mallory and her father, until the resolution and the beautiful ending. I most definitely will read this author again.
