Thane is willing to do anything to be with his lover, even if it means leaving his family. He loves Veylin, and because of that doesn't want her to have to be involved with the frolic. The frolic is a way their people have of being sexually free and it is law that everyone participate in it until they are a certain age, to allow people to experience everything to it's fullest. Thane is not allowed to be in it anymore, so Veylin would be expected to be with other people until she becomes of age, and that he couldn't allow. There's also that pact with his brothers he made years ago… but he's not willing to share Veylin anytime soon, even with his brothers.

Veylin doesn't care about the frolic; she only wants to be with Thane, although the brothers might not be that bad. Thane is still unaware of her secrets and although he seems to be fine with it she's not sure that if he found out that would still be the case. When they decide to run away, she's afraid that her secrets will ruin everything… especially when one catches up with them.

There was lots of chemistry between Thane and Veylin, they really light it up when they are together. Over all, I thought the first one was better because the interaction between Thane and Veylin had more meaning and seemed more passionate. The interrogation techniques the brothers used on Veylin in the beginning was a bit over the top and I was surprised that she allowed it, but hey, she seemed to enjoy it. I liked the story and how it moved along at a good clip, it really kept me engaged throughout the whole thing. When the first part of this series ended, I thought I knew where the story was going, but after reading the second one in the series I'm not so sure. Will she be the one for all the brothers? Or will they find their own love? I'm looking forward to finding out.
