It's the summer of 1977 and Tracey McCarthy has just turned eighteen. He thinks it is high time he loses his virginity. Thus begins a summer of sexual discovery from some pretty seedy sexual situations to meeting Angel Rosa. Tracey discovers more about himself  as his self awareness journey continues.

The book has been labeled as porn noir and by true definition it would comply. It's also a well written coming of age story about a young gay cross-dresser
struggling to be who he is in a time where that is virtually impossible. The story also delves into the darker side of sex, and is not for the squeamish. I wouldn't call this one a romance per se but there is love amongst the rubble. The author paints a very descriptive picture so the visual in my mind's eye is ever present as I took this journey along with Tracey. Mr. Miles is a very good storyteller and I was engaged in this gritty, emotional and raw story from beginning to end. I admit my initial concept of the book didn't come anywhere near the actual plot, and that's certainly not a bad thing. Tracy is just the beginning of the very interesting characters so craftily written by the author. I guarantee you won't forget them. This story might not tickle the fancy of some readers but it's a story not to be missed. An engaging thought provoking read.
