| After the fabulous first book in this series, I could not imagine how #2 could ever equal the wonderful writing of book #1 (Circle of Friends: Only Tyler). However, this incredible author, Jess Dee, proved me wrong many times over. This second book can be enjoyed without reading the first but I wouldn’t advise it. The story made sense as a stand-alone read, but it became even more extraordinary when read in the order written.
Steve, Tyler and Kate had been best friends for most of their lives. After Steve and Kate announced their engagement, Tyler returned and decided to fight his best friend for the love of Kate. Steve and Kate, both general practitioners, had opened a medical office together. When Tyler returned and Kate broke her engagement to Steve, Steve was crushed. It wasn’t that he loved Kate in a special way. His one true love, Penelope, was Tyler’s sister, who had run away to London 2-1/2 years before. Tyler came back, but Pen didn’t...until Tyler’s horrendous motorcycle wreck. Ms. Dee proved that a storyline of this high caliber could indeed stand up to the standards set in her first book. Steve and Pen had more to overcome than did Tyler and Kate. The dynamics of this couple proved that Dee knows how to grip the readers’ imaginations. There was a myriad of emotional highs and lows in this book. I shed enough tears to be glad I was reading in private. I laughed. I read some incredible sexual activity. The ratio of storyline and sensuality was higher than normal. The ending of the story was shocking to me. I loved this book. It was definitely not for the faint of heart for its sexual content was explicit and frequent. The overall content of the story was breathtaking. I loved the story and I loved the outcome. I’ve found a new author to add to my automatic list.
