| Jenny Jefferson doesn't realize there is so much work left to do before the grand opening of her pregnant sister's new B&B. Perhaps if she had she might not have volunteered to cook for the guests this summer. She also didn't know that her sister's brother-in-law, Jase Edwards has also been enlisted into hospitality construction duty. The last time Jenny saw Jase was at their respective siblings' wedding and it didn't go well, in fact it was as stormy as the weather they are now experiencing. Things can change a lot in four years and now they have an unbelievable chemistry. They also seem to have a troublesome ghost in this beautiful house with an ill-fated history. Can they figure out the past while planning for their future?
This was a sweet story with a nice paranormal twist. The characters were fabulously depicted and the ghost-story subtly weaved into this charming tale. Jenny and Jase are easy to relate to. The two characters are a lot alike. They are both family-orientated and loyal, yet also unyielding and headstrong. It was nice to share in the journey of two average young people falling in love. I enjoyed how antagonistic the couple were toward each other in the beginning, it made for some occasionally sarcastic dialogue. The supporting cast were strongly written and helped move the story forward. The setting is great, who wouldn't enjoy a ghost story set in an authentic Victorian house during a rainy storm season? Some of the language and situations might be a little too mature for younger readers. Too much mention of current pop culture distracted from the storyline. The ending was enjoyably climactic but a bit too rushed for me. If you are a fan of young adult paranormals then this is a good choice for you as it has a good mixture of romance, suspense, humor and other-worldly action.
