| Malcolm Smalls has been beaten up and made fun of all through high school for being gay. The only thing is -- he's not gay. Living a lonely life and always being made fun of is all that Malcolm had to look forward to until he met Wes, the handsome son of his new neighbors. Malcolm suddenly has a friend and life is good, until he starts to have feelings for Wes. Malcolm is suddenly confused. He has spent so much time fighting off bullies. He never really thought he was gay, but now all he can think about is Wes.
This is one of those stories that just make you feel good. The plot is well written and flows smoothly. The author has a way with words, that can't help but to draw you into Malcolm's world and keep you there. You can't help but feel the things he going through and root for him to find a better life with Wes. The story is told from Malcolm's point of view and you take his journey of self discovery with him. You will feel sad for the situation you find him in but you can't help but admire his spirit and wit. Through everything he has gone through he is still basically a good person and has not let himself become mean and bitter. If I had to use a word to describe this book it would be feelings, the ones Malcolm has and the ones you feel almost being a voyeur looking into this period of his life. There are a lot of steamy m/m situations in this story, so if this is not something you like, this is not a story for you, but I felt they were perfect for a story Malcolm's story. This is a great story for those of you who like m/m fiction.
