| Meg Applegate is a high school teacher and longs for Officer Bret Cara. Bret has a policy of not seeing woman who are looking for the long term, especially after witnessing his parents’ disastrous marriage. But when Meg’s drink is spiked at the Sweetheart Dance, Bret comes to her rescue and is rewarded by a hot kiss. Meg is helping Bret solve a series of crimes by teens when they agree to a no strings affair. But with each encounter, Meg is falling further in love with Bret. When Meg demands more, will Bret stay or walk away?
Another great story from the Applegate family. When it comes to the perfect family, Ms. Colt has it pegged with the Applegates. It’s not that they are perfect people or anything, but the characters are flawless and their emotions are made clear to the reader. The family is tight and they care for one another. This atmosphere is totally foreign to Bret, but is also something he thought he would never be capable of having for himself. And what a delicious man Bret is. He’s as sexy as can be in an out of his uniform. The chemistry between Meg and Bret is undeniable and as hot as it gets. While Bret did try to fight it, he was fighting a losing battle. When they gave into the attraction and agreed on an affair the sparks started flying and the heat got so hot that the reader’s fingertips may get burned. While the plot may be uncomplicated and straightforward, it is entertaining and will keep the reader engaged. Plus there’s a little mystery thrown in that is sure to keep the reader spellbound. The Sweetheart Dance is well-written and full of interesting characters that I hope to see again in the future. If you enjoy stories full of remarkable characters, smoking hot love scenes and an entertaining plot you should give this book a try.
