|Having been close to five years in remission from Leukaemia, Addie Collins wants just one thing and that is to stop real estate tycoon Nathaniel Montgomery from knocking down the St. Agnes hospital and destroying the gorgeous rose gardens that came to mean so much to her through her recovery. With a plan in mind, she handcuffs herself to him during a protest rally which ends in disaster.
Nathaniel Montgomery is on his way to making himself a billionaire with the plans he has to build condos where the St. Agnes hospital currently resides. However, when a beautiful woman with a cause handcuffs herself to him and lands him in the hospital, he finds himself using her to his advantage by getting her to pose as his girlfriend in hopes of getting his mother and grandmother off his back about settling down with a woman and having children.
The plot of this story was total genius and I loved the way it started with Addie handcuffing herself to Nathaniel so he'd listen to her reasons for not tearing down the hospital that helped her to recover from cancer. It progressed really well and I couldn't for one second put it down because Nathaniel and Addie were both great characters that wanted to get their own way. The dialogue was intense and very emotional at times because of Addie's illness and her uphill battle in keeping herself healthy. The sex scenes were scorching and revealed how great these two were for each other as Addie really mellowed Nathaniel out. What I liked so much about Addie was her attitude towards life and that you have to live each day as it comes no matter what it holds because she never knew whether the cancer may come back or not. While with Nathaniel, I liked the person he became when he was around Addie and how he wasn't so high-strung.
Overall, this novel was an amazing read. However, I must warn readers that they'll need tissues handy because it was a real tear-jerker at times.
