| Mercedes San Carlos is driven by loneliness and desperation, searching for a host as she floats on currents of metaphysical energy. She needs a willing mind in which to meld. Touching mind after mind, she searches out but no one tests the limit of her control. As the years pass before her, she decides to again find that connecting source. Her unique psychology requires two things for her survival, blood and sexual energy. As Club Carousel fills up, she hunts for an out-of-the-way seat. After decades of hearing the Pyrite play live, she will not be denied the opportunity to hear the sounds again. Eric King speaks five different languages and has some powerful friends. Of late his muse has been missing and his songs haven't been what he's accustomed, but the night he meets Mercedes, he plays a piece of music that she finds splendid. Even though their first encounter is quite shaky, and a bit apprehensive, the two soon hit it off quite well. His music becomes the best he has written; as their lives ensue a path of exciting situations neither anticipated but whether it is enough to continue on, remains to be seen.
A Taste of Dawn is a highly erotic, steaming hot book. Mercedes is an intriguing person as the reader almost feels her drifting over each page. She is quite realistic in her actions, striking an emotion in this reader. I could feel her ache to be with that certain someone. She carries a solitude that grips the heart. Even Eric has a way of sharing his sentiments with the reader. All the characters blend in well adding that certain depth to the storyline, making the mystery behind the relationship of Eric and Mercedes thrilling. Aubrey Ross does an excellent job in another installment of her Club Carousel series. She pens a captivating read that is thoroughly delightful. This is just an enjoyable tale.
