| The year is 1883 and Nicky Malloy is on the run from the law for a murder she committed in self defense. She has been able to avoid the law and bounty hunters for three years. Her luck is about to change. Tyler Calhoun has a reputation of always getting his man, or in this case woman. Nicky was wanted dead or alive but preferably alive. Bringing her in would mean six thousand dollars to him. After he caught up with her they would have to travel together on horseback from Oklahoma to Wyoming. The time they spend together will be challenging. They will get to know each other very well as they travel. Nicky wonders if the feelings she develops for Tyler are returned or if he is just seducing her to prevent her from escaping.
The Bounty is an exhilarating adventure filled with humor and passion. Beth Williamson has created some wonderfully colorful characters that will definitely grab your attention. Nicky is not like most women of this era. She was the youngest child and had four older brothers. She can ride and shoot better than some men. When it comes to being feminine, she is vulnerable, not trusting in herself to be desirable and she fears rejection. Tyler is a man trying to escape his past. He does not want to get involved with Nicky but the desire he feels for her will not be denied. Passion explodes and the two give in to the volcanic emotions that they feel. The sex scenes are explicitly graphic and described in steamy stimulating details. The dialogue flows smoothly and is easily followed, successfully conveying the thoughts and emotions of the characters. The plot for Tyler to get his bounty is fully developed as well as establishing a relationship between the main characters. As I said, he always gets his woman. The reason behind Nicky's trouble with the law is heartbreaking. This story will carry the reader through the full range of emotions, even including suspicion as Nicky wonders if Tyler is out to turn her in. The Bounty is a story that is pure entertainment and has something for everyone. A thrilling adventure that will have you laughing and crying, definitely a must read.
