| Gwyenth Wells was a beautiful and successful lawyer with a problem -- someone was following her. At her uncle's request she agrees to see private investigator Mike Carlton, who comes highly recommended. Though it was not a perfect first impression, Mike was still hired on the case. He became Gwyenth's shadow in the office, at home and anywhere in between. When she is attacked in an alley it soon became evident that someone was out to do more than scare her. The suspects with motivation for this type of crime were starting to add up including her ex boyfriend, a noted mobster, and even her Aunt. When Mike takes her out of the city and to his parents home for the weekend Gwyenth finds herself faced with the charge of murder!
The story will hold your interest from the first chapter to the last. The plot is not only excellent but each character is so well defined they seem to come right of the pages at the reader. Ms. Ryan has given readers a great story and I look forward to reading more of her work.
