| Gwenyth is definitely not having the best month. Someone is stalking her,
her ex-fiancé won't take a hint and get lost, her mother's sister wants a
good part of her inheritance, and now the P. I. she was told to hire by her
Uncle Wil is acting like a macho jerk and hitting on her. Needless to say,
she's a bit irritated and it shows. Mike, the P. I., recognizes Gwenyth as a
bit out of his league, a bit of an ice princess, and the woman he must have.
And it's not just a sexual thing either. Mike has some pure intentions.
Some. But first he has to find out who is stalking her, why, and then make
sure they stop. Sadly, Gwenyth won't be helping him. She's determined to
keep her life the way it is, and Mike is just too troublesome...and
enticing. She's never acted so out-of-control around any man and it unnerves
her that Mike can make her act so. But when she's attacked, she finally
realizes she needs Mike around as a bodyguard, and that she just might want
him around for more.
Man for the Job is an EXCELLENT book. I absolutely loved reading every second of the 360-page book. When I first so it was so much, I thought I'd end up with parts here and there that would lag or get boring. But boy was I wrong! It kept it's pace up the entire time, as well as it's humor. And the characters really got to me. Mike was so cute, funny, sexy, and sweet. He still was the epitome of the take-charge man. And I loved Gwenyth just as much. She started off a bit icy and standoffish but was soon shown as an entirely different person. It was wonderful to see the author reveal her true self as she became more comfortable and relaxed with Mike. The suspense plots (yes, plots!) were wound around Gwenyth beautifully. I was never entirely sure what was going on, or what would happen at the end. And all the villains were great a villains! The romance, however, is what stole the show. Mike and Gwen were so great together. Their banter was hilarious and I ended up loving how Mike could jar Gwen out of a rant, or into one. They fit so well together. And, even though their romance in bed wasn't explicit, I still felt the heat of it. If you love romance, you just HAVE to get Man for the Job. It's one of the most enjoyable books I've read lately.
