Mattie Kincaid, a young and impressionable writer, was offered a great job as a reporter for WebSports an online magazine. The break of a lifetime would send her from her home in Colorado to Seattle to do stories on their hockey team. The fact that Mattie knew nothing about hockey didn't bother her. Naturally she could get the information she needed by research.

She is met at the airport in Seattle by Grant Alexander who seemed a bit put out with the fact she was a female. After his initial shock he was soon willing to help her learn the game and even introduced her to many of the players. It soon becomes evident to others that there is more than a passing friendship between Grant and Mattie yet they seem to not see it yet.

When Mattie finds out the real reason she got the job it's too late because she is in love with Grant and the truth would only end what they have. Does Mattie lose Grant? Does she keep the job? I will say only one thing - the story is a good one and someone does score a goal! Thin Ice is a love story that will appeal to many readers.
