| Alexandra “Sasha” DeStephano is tiger royalty, exiled from their society but born of a match between two of the leading families nonetheless. Her parents taught her to be wary of the political infighting and she has lived happily as a loner away from any tiger shifters. Yet she’s been a little curious and wished for a chance to run with others like her under the moon. However, she knows the invitation from the elders comes with strings attached. Her escort Colton Reyes is powerful but she doesn’t recognize him as aligned with any of the major houses. She’s not sure where his loyalties lie, but the sexual attraction she feels for him makes her tigress want to take control. So begins a dangerous game for Sasha, who after all is a Princess and last heir to the tiger throne.
Tiger by the Tail is a little jewel of an urban fantasy about tiger shifters. It’s totally entertaining, steamy, intriguing and these characters made me sit up and take notice! Sasha DeStephano is a strong woman, contrary enough to be labeled feisty and yet also strong enough to step up and take control of a situation when needed. Cole was a mysterious hero with plenty of undercurrents swirling around his involvement in Sasha’s return. Yet the impression we get is one of a man who can be counted on both in bed and out of it! I enjoyed how the politics and background of her life and the tiger society rules were revealed as part of the unfolding action. Several secondary characters added depth to this short story and helped move the plot forward. A few were even more engaging and made an impression but did not overshadow the main characters. I didn’t intend to read it in one sitting but suddenly it was over. The story did have a rather abrupt ending. I was so involved that now I want to find out what happens next! This story seemed like it could be a prequel but there is no mention of more to come on Ms Chambers site. At the risk of putting pressure on a new author, I’ll ask the question. What’s next Kaye Chambers? Oh and hurry up! Obviously I highly recommend this wonderful story to all lovers of paranormal shifter romances. It’s a keeper!
