Ardis Bellamy just wants to restore art. Never in a million years would she plan on running around France and Greece searching for a thief. But that's what she's doing since Marco Monteleone stole her Aunt's necklace. An unwelcome addition to her search is that it seems she has to depend on James Tate, another criminal, to help her. For a bad guy Tate is charming but she's determined not to get taken in by his sweet talk or his gorgeous body.

Gwen Roman pens an excellent tale of two people chasing around Monaco, Marseilles, Greece, and other exotic locales one step in front of some people who seem to want to harm Ardis. She never goes very long without some nasty bruisers doing damage to her in one way or another. Tate always seems to come through unscathed. Not a good basis for trusting him. That and the fact he seems to be on a first name basis with most of the criminal element they run into doesn't bode well for a relationship.

Ardis as the daughter of a thief has a lot of tricks up her sleeves. She proves it as the plot thickens. Almost her opposite, Tate used to be a pharmacy student before getting involved with his current line of work. Ms. Roman brings these two very unlikely people together in a suspense that will keep the reader guessing about who the culprit behind the assaults really is. The ending will most likely surprise and amaze you. Filled with humor, an unlikely romance and plenty of mystery, this is a great read.
