| Joley Drake is the sister with the power to use her voice to control her listeners. She also feels emotions from the people she touches. Joley's considered the sister who reacts rashly without thinking through the consequences of her actions. She's also a superstar musician hoping her magical voice will soothe those in need. She's burnt out from the superstar backlash - the partying, the drugs, and illicit sex that seems to come with the industry. She's attracted to Ilya Prakenskii, who's a bodyguard for the notorious mobster, Nikitin Sergei. Ever since Ilya turned Joley’s powers back onto her, marking her palm, she has felt the attraction as well as the burning sensation in her palm. Joley and her band are on tour in this book, and Joley has encountered several death threats. Ilya does all he can to protect her, but even he can’t be with her 24/7 and still protect Nikitin. Someone close to Joley is a traitor and as the danger increases, she and Ilya have to figure out where the danger is coming from.
Turbulent Sea is the latest book in the Drake Sisters series. This book has been long anticipated and certainly lives up to the reputation of the series. Feehan has infused Joley with great characteristics, one of which is her very powerful personality. There's also her very vulnerable feelings that she rarely lets anyone see except her family. Joley's used to getting her way, but she also tends to put the needs of others before her own. I loved how Joley is a superstar but still retains a sweetness about her and a loving relationship with her family and band. Ilya was made for Joley. He has experienced pain and betrayal and his personality has been formed by the necessity for violence at an early age. Her voice is his salvation and he will stop at nothing to protect her. Turbulent Sea moves swiftly with action, tension, and romance. Full of sensuality, this book will grab your interest and keep you entertained through to the last page. The Drake sisters are all very powerful women, and while this book doesn’t feature their interaction as much as some of the others in the series, the reader will certainly grasp the fact that they stand together through all circumstances. The only thing I disliked about Turbulent Sea was the fact that it had to end! I eagerly look forward to reading Elle Drake’s story.
