Jade has no illusions about her attractions for the male of the species. Her place had been made very clear by the time she graduated high school that larger girls are less desirable than their anorexic counterparts. Resigned that she would always be the bridesmaid and never the bride, she has cut out a unique niche for herself in the wedding industry. She plans weddings for the newly legal vampires. She has worked in the industry for years and has easily accommodated her new clientele. The best benefit: very few mothers of the bride. She wasn't expecting anyone like Renaldi D'Aria. Renaldi is totally bowled over by Jade; she is everything he has ever wanted in a woman. When he was young, women like Jade were the epitome of beauty. Having been struck by the Italian thunderbolt, he is determined to make her feel the same way.

This is a truly unique and inventive take on the vampire romance. The author has really thought out her take on the vampire world, from customs, clans, and the hierarchy to their relationships to humans. And to top it all off she has created a heroine with guts and wit. I often wonder why the ancient vampires of the novels gravitate towards skinny women, when beauty was so different in their day, and the author has given us a hero who is still attracted to women that he would have found beautiful in life, lucky Jade. I will definitely be looking for more of this author's work.
