Mia, an art historian, has a special gift but she sure doesn’t think so. It has caused her grief and criticism, so much so that she’s withdrawn from the world and immersed herself in her job. Her gift is precognition. Mia has no control over her visions nor can she always interpret them. Bombarded with the latest confusing and frightening images both day and night, she has no choice but to open herself again to ridicule and scepticism. Mia knows from past experience she can’t hide and ignore them, not if there is an off chance she can help prevent a crime being committed.

Dan Romeo, head of Phoenix, an organization that specializes in top security amongst other things, needs some much needed R & R. What better way than to help out a friend in need who's about to launch a prototype that will have everyone from the armed forces and police to the unscrupulous wanting a piece of the action. However, what was supposed to be an easy security job turns into so much more.

Wow! Judith Rochelle has created a brilliant sequel to Always on My Mind. I was impressed with the writing and the story in the first book. Romantic suspense with characters that have psychic powers is a particular favorite of mine. Judith didn’t falter. Visions of Darkness surpassed my expectations. High octane suspense kept me on the edge of my seat holding my breath throughout the novel. The relationship between Mia and Dan was beautiful and gave me the warm fuzzies. I loved how Dan, a modern day battle-hardened warrior, showed sensitivity and caring to Mia. I also loved that Mia, had strength and courage not to back down when all she wanted to do was hide as most would in her situation. I’m impatient for the next book in the series and seeing more of those delicious Phoenix men. This series is turning out to be one of the best I’ve ever read.
